Automotive radome tester enhancement from Rohde & Schwarz brings new level of precision to material reflection measurements

Rohde & Schwarz has enhanced its R&S QAR quality automotive radome tester, a tailored solution for radar integration testing to analyze and evaluate the radar compatibility of radomes and bumpers. With the new R&S QAR-K50 single-cluster measurement software, OEMs and tier 1 suppliers are able to achieve measurement results very close to those obtained with a vector network analyzer (VNA) and a quasi-optical (QO) setup, but in a nondestructive and 2-dimensional way. In addition, users benefit from the intuitive R&S QAR operating concept.

Rohde & Schwarz and Löhnert Elektronik present a robot-based solution for end-of-line measurement of automotive radomes and bumpers

Together with its partner Löhnert Elektronik, Rohde & Schwarz has introduced a fully automated turnkey solution for bumper production radar transparency testing based on the successful R&S QAR50. The lightweight and compact setup of the R&S QAR50-R facilitates precise positioning of the measurement antennas, allowing faster, more accurate and convenient testing. This leads to higher throughput and yeilds as well as more flexiblity to adapt to different DUTs, for End-of-line (EOL) measurements of bumpers and other exterior parts.
