Please see various flows of Air-Ground and Ground-Ground calls between pilots and ground personal. Calls might be transported inside single domains but can also use secure and unsecure infrastructure at the same time. Encryption for secure calls either happen at the domain border by use of an encryption device pool or by embedded encryption modules being part of the radios.
