Software Quality Assurance (SQA) is a key pillar of our vision to excel in delivering outstanding software products for our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software Certification Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our systems with the industry standards and regulatory objectives. As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge aviation software solution, with a primary focus on meeting the regulatory requirements and supporting the certification efforts for our products.
Our Hillsboro R&D center is located in the Portland, OR area. We have a light, quiet, and modern work environment in a recently remodeled 44,000 sq. ft. facility with a fully stocked breakroom, indoor vertical bike racks, and walking/biking trails right next door. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, where we recognize the importance of close personal interactions for a successful team while also appreciating the benefits of consistent remote work.
Occasional travel to U.S. and international locations will be needed. Eligibility to work in the US, as well as the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, will be required.
Your tasks
- Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) process activities.
- Lead the certification efforts for aviation software products.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate certification requirements into the software development process.
- Conduct thorough reviews to identify areas impacting certification compliance, providing guidance to development teams.
- Perform audits of the software life cycle to ensure compliance.
- Address and resolve audit findings promptly, implementing corrective actions as required.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to certification processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate and participate in certification audits, working closely with internal teams to ensure all necessary documentation and evidence are prepared and available.
- Stay current with the latest industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices pertaining to aviation software certification.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system engineers, and project managers, to address quality-related issues and implement solutions.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding software quality assurance and certification status.
- Collaborate closely with the software development team and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Provide regular updates and reports on certification status to internal and external stakeholders.
