As of October 1, 2021, China Mobile requires all 5G enabled mobile phones to support voice services over 5G NR (VoNR). Accordingly, the network operator has announced corresponding audio quality test cases. China Mobile relies on the R&S CMX500 radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz for 5G VoNR test verification, and the first acceptance tests have already been performed.

Such extended reality (XR) applications have many valuable use cases: for example, remote surgery. Rohde & Schwarz is involved in predicting important future 6G applications by working closely with customers and following technology trends.

C-V2X is one of the most significant automotive developments, and the creation of the appropriate standards and testing procedures to ensure compliance has become the key to this technology. Vehicle OEMs and Tier1 component suppliers need a standard system to support and guide the development and research of their C-V2X products and function of the overall system. Additionally, testing service companies and authorities need to carry out a large number of validation and certification work in accordance with the government and industry regulatory requirements.
