Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and Panasonic introduce joint solution for highly secure mobile working

The IT security experts Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and Panasonic Mobile Solutions will offer their customers a joint VS-NfD (RESTRICTED) approved security solution for mobile working. Panasonic Mobile Solutions delivers fail-safe IT solutions with robust hardware and services under the TOUGHBOOK brand. Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity complements these with comprehensive, proactive IT security - consisting of a highly secure browser, a software-based VPN client and hard disk encryption.

Munich, November 4, 2021 - Mobile working has become part of everyday working life for many. At the same time, portable devices are a popular target for cyberattacks. On the move, more unauthorized persons can potentially gain access to, steal or manipulate data - for example, via an inadequately secured WLAN connection. With their joint VS-NfD (RESTRICTED) approved solution, IT security experts Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and Panasonic Mobile Solutions are making secure mobile and encrypted work even easier while meeting high security requirements.

Maximum availability of technology and employees

Panasonic Mobile Solutions' mobile IT solutions are based on rugged notebooks, 2-in-1 hybrids, tablets and handhelds and are explicitly designed for IT-hostile work environments and punishing 24/7 continuous use. Certified to various IP ratings as well as MIL-STD-810G, they reduce costly, time-consuming downtime to a minimum. With modular design and versatile interface options - including integrated barcode/RFID scanners - they are customized to meet specific needs. In this way, they combine the advantages of multiple devices in one reliable multifunctional tool and offer maximum availability of technology and employees.

Comprehensive IT security against cyberattacks

Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity complements Panasonic Mobile Solutions' failsafe IT solutions with comprehensive IT security: The software-based R&S®Trusted VPN Client protects the network communication of a client platform (Windows laptop, tablet) with a government or corporate network via an untrusted network, such as the Internet. Here, a "zero trust" architecture has been implemented against the operating system to eliminate risks due to possible operating system exploits. The "always on" mode provides additional security: Users are never unprotected in an untrusted network. R&S®Trusted Disk hard disk encryption protects sensitive data from unauthorized access with secure and transparent encryption in real time without restricting productivity even in the event of loss or theft - even on USB data carriers. And the virtual environment for secure web surfing, R&S®Browser in the Box, in combination with R&S®Trusted VPN Client and R&S®Trusted Disk, provides an additional security system for a highly secure mobile workplace.

"The IT security of mobile devices is in many ways an essential aspect of working on the move," emphasizes Timo Unger, Country Manager CEE at Panasonic Mobile Solutions. "For example, it is not only sensitive industries such as police and security services, healthcare and the energy industry that rely on security for mobile end devices. With Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, we have an ideal partner at our side to offer our robust and thus fail-safe mobile end devices combined with a proactive IT security package from a single source."

"We are pleased to be able to offer customers a highly secure mobile workplace as part of our cooperation with Panasonic Mobile Solutions," added Dr. Falk Herrmann, CEO of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity. "Panasonic's TOUGHBOOK tablets and handhelds, together with our security solutions, are the perfect platform for all users who do not want to compromise on either device robustness or IT security."
